The Stewartstown Railroad will be operating a special track car shuttle train from Stewartstown, PA to New Freedom, PA on Saturday, September 17. The train will leave the station in Stewartstown at 10:30 a.m. and travel the 7.4 miles to New Freedom. There will be a layover in New Freedom so riders may attend the NEW FREEDOM FEST being held this day along the rail trail in mid-town New Freedom. Tickets may be purchased on the day of the trip for $20 each for adults and $16 for youngsters aged 12 and under. Admission to the New Freedom Fest is FREE!

We do all sorts of things on a work weekend, and on this past weekend, we were replacing ties on the mainline between bridges 7 and 8.

This upcoming weekend, we plan on having a large crew replacing ties on the mainline, west of the water cistern, extending our Class I track towards the Iron Bridge. Work days will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, starting at the Stewartstown Station at around 9:00 each morning.
On Sunday we’ll have our July Firecracker Special motorcar ride to New Freedom and Return. Leave the Stewartstown Station at 10:00 AM, arrive New Freedom about 11:00 AM.
One hour to eat lunch and shop in New Freedom, check out the Steam Into History train, and then return to Stewartstown.
Rain or shine, we have covered cars with roofs and windshields. $20 Adult, $16.00 Children up to 12 yr old. Get there early as seating is limited!

During the month of December, Santa will be riding on the Stewartstown Railroad, talking to our riders, telling them stories, and handing out Candy Canes to those that would like some.
Each ride takes approximately 30 minutes, during which time Santa will walk through our Christmas-decorated cabooses, visiting the children on board.
Be sure to bring your camera and take pictures of the kids with Santa, so they can always remember their day onboard the train!
Tickets are available at the Stewartstown Train Station, located at 21 West Pennsylvania Ave, Stewartstown, PA. Ample parking is available, and the Station Museum and Gift Shop will be open as well.

During our next work weekend, November 20, 21, and 22, we plan on doing the following:
Work days start at 9:00 at the Stewartstown station, and we can always use additional volunteers. We usually work until about 5:00, but people leave when they have to. We usually break for lunch around noon. We’d love to have you, so if you can give us a hand, come on by!
FREE TRAIN RIDES FOR VETERANS
ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2015
The Stewartstown Railroad will be offering FREE train rides to veterans and active duty military members who present a valid ID* at the ticket window in the station. We Thank You for your past and present service to our Nation!
The train station will open at 1:00 p.m. with trains leaving the station at 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
(The station is located only 3 miles east of the Shrewsbury Cracker Barrel on PA Route 851).
*A valid ID for veterans is their DD Form 214 (or equivalent), or a membership card from a military fraternal organization, or a government-issued veterans ID card. For active duty military, show your military ID card.
The Blue Caboose is available for rental for Birthday Parties, Charters, and is a part of our regular passenger runs.
